Start with Anděl station

Start with Anděl station

Anděl station brings together metro line B, tram stops and a bus terminal in Smíchov. The station-area map provides a useful first check: exits E1–E5 are marked for the Na Knížecí bus terminal, E6 for Nádražní Street and E7 for the Anděl tram stop.

If you need lift access, the map labels a lift at exit E6 on Nádražní Street. That information does not establish accessibility at every platform, entrance or interchange, so check the route and station details for your specific journey.

Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy (DPP) provides English-language transport maps, traffic schemes and metro neighbourhood maps, including a map for Anděl. Use these to orient yourself before choosing an exit or transfer.

Using the metro and tram network

Using the metro and tram network

From Anděl, line B is the clearest starting point for a metro journey: it connects the station with Smíchovské nádraží on one side and Karlovo náměstí on the other. For destinations not served by that line, check the map for a transfer that fits your route.

Tram stops are also marked around Anděl, including the stop at exit E7. Because route numbers and service details can change, use the current DPP map or traffic scheme to confirm which tram or bus serves your destination rather than relying on an old route number.

For the airport, DPP says bus 191 runs from Anděl, with a journey time of 51 minutes and intervals of 5 to 30 minutes. You can also read about how to travel from Prague Airport to Smíchov when planning the airport leg.

Tickets, passes and validation

Tickets, passes and validation

Tickets
18 CZK by app or 19 CZK on paper for 30 minutes, 23 CZK or 25 CZK for 90 minutes

Choose a Prague ticket duration that covers your planned journey: the full-fare options include 30-minute and 90-minute tickets, plus 24-hour and 72-hour tickets. Current prices are 36 CZK in the PID Lítačka app or 39 CZK on paper for 30 minutes; 46 CZK or 50 CZK for 90 minutes; 140 CZK or 150 CZK for 24 hours; and 340 CZK or 350 CZK for 72 hours. The first price in each pair is for the app, the second for paper.

Eligible passengers aged 60 to under 65 with valid proof can buy half-price tickets: 18 CZK by app or 19 CZK on paper for 30 minutes, 23 CZK or 25 CZK for 90 minutes, and 70 CZK or 75 CZK for 24 hours.

There is no 72-hour half-price option. Prague subscription tickets cost 550 CZK for one month, 1,480 CZK for three months and 3,650 CZK annually at full price; half prices are 130 CZK, 360 CZK and 1,280 CZK, respectively.

A 24- or 72-hour ticket covers Prague Integrated Transport services including metro, trams, buses, trolleybuses, suburban trains in zones P, 0 and B, and ferries. Check the official site before you go for current fares and service details.

If you buy a paper ticket from a machine, information centre or ticket office, validate it once when you first use it: on boarding a vehicle or entering the metro paid area. Insert the ticket facing up in the direction of the arrow. Its validity begins at validation.

Tickets bought on board, at touchscreen terminals or railway ticket counters are valid from purchase and need no further validation. In the PID mobile app, a ticket becomes valid after a 60-second protective period from purchase, or after later manual activation. An SMS ticket must arrive before you travel.

Reaching Prague’s central sights
